Push ups @ 14:56

I like parodies. I'm pretty sarcastic sometimes (not offending) and these kind of videos make me laugh lots. Pretty much nigahiga's, a famous youtuber (someone who uploads videos to youtube often). He started with nigga tutorials like "How to be gangster", and became famous with parodies of movies (like Twilight). I blame my brothers for showing me this.

He did a hilarious parody about Thanksgiving last year, and even if you don't know or understand american's traditions, the video explain how to ruin it :D cool, isn't it? LOL

And the last one I watched last week, how to get some abs and do "push ups", buying one dvd for the price of two.

This summer I ran into this guy in such a place I can’t tell you because it’s not allowed to talk about it (tumblrakjdhfladslñ) while I was scrolling on my dashboard. It wasn’t easy to understand at first but after some views it’s funny and stupid, but the main fact I like it’s he has a lots of characters (or alter-egos) and they’re mainly women, so you can see how they interact among them (he never shave the beard, and the women characters have beard because of reasons) Maria and Keisha are the best :3 (the first one is a Chola and the second one a super-model, singer, actress and gossip).

He makes parodies too, about women and their bad habits, sayings (or expressions) and all.

I like this video too, and that game. what lol

London Tour @ 15:13

Last week we did a particular activity, where we had to look for interesting places and make a schedule about different places we like to visit in London. Actually I didn't know much about London, just some about Big Ben or so but nothing else.

So I had this chance I couldn't avoid (it was marked -_-), but I quite enjoyed it :)  Now I'd really like to visit London and its beautiful places. It was like... travel around the city, but via web. Maybe the easiest part of this was looking for prices; it's part of web design make information easy to visualize, so you could find quickly for any of prices; but thanks god, there are many places for free (like Tate Art Gallery), because others where quite expensive, or there were many different prices. But it was frustrating looking for London's underground tube stations. If you think Santiago has many lines, London's are 10 times Santiago's (some friends get easily lost in our tube).

Looking for information is easy, and I can do it very quickly, but doing appointments and making a schedule with different prices for a group or a single person, and arrange different activities for a whole day or two per day, for a whole week, it's a bit stressful.

But thanks to this work, I really appreciate London, with all its interesting places and activities, besides the problems I would have using the tube but now, I'd really like to visit London, specially the London eye. It's fantastic, and the night view, ohh it must be wonderful :)  I could recognize it last day in the newspaper with Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II news.

A little mania @ 18:07

Being designer doesn't mean you have to love drawing. Most people think they were born knowing how to draw, but actually is not like that. When I was little I didn't quite enjoy drawing; I was pretty bad (really).

But then, a close friend started drawing at school and I certainly did the same, just to feel, you know, accepted. As every kid feels when they start growing up. And I never stopped.

So today I put all my sketchbooks on my bed, to count how many I've collected over the years. Since the very first I had until the last one I bought. And this is it. (well, I missed some, they're hiding somewhere...)

Don't seem so much but counting the filled sheets, I've drawn and practiced so much since then. That one sketchbook on right side which looks older, it's the oldest in fact. My very first sketchbook. I love it so much but the drawings in there... omg. *shoots herself*

I'm missing so many sketchbooks I've lost passing years, due to changes of home or whatever, I don't know. Oh yeah, I have my own style. Guess what lol.

This past years I've changed of kinds of paper, from simple 90 gr bond to new papers like Fabriano sketch, Fabriano4, or Fabriano Watercolor paper (yeah! \o/ long live Fabriano) to kraft or sketch paper. (mostly due to college ♥).

Yeah, I love trying new materials. Give me a piece of paper and a pencil and I'll draw. And pencils! I love pencils. I quite enjoy being at a stationery store, testing pencils and watching beautiful sketchbooks or notebooks.

Here's my handy pencil jars. (Nutella one and a Nescafé Customized one by myself).

lol Actually I wanted to talk about this little mania: collecting stationery stuff. Lots of sketchbooks, lots of pencils, brushes, watercolors, markers, fineliners, ballpoint pens, pencil cases, and I don't even have space to storage my stuff! And I keep buying this pretty little things I enjoy the most. My own guilty pleasure. What, chocolate is not everything. WHAT щ(ºДºщ).

My fineliners lol 0.05 it's so fine and thin.

and a little drawing, gotta color it now, and my last sketchbook <3 Bought today, and a set of adhesive notepads ♥ (Casa&Ideas).
cute notebooks and notepads I can't use because their cuteness! ; A;

my most used pencilcase. (the first one is a dog! a dog! it has a bone ; A;) and the last one looks like a real choco bar *yum*

\o/ today was a perfect day for drawing ~ but I had to study like, lots and lots for economy and psychology ;  A; (I'm crying blood...) ''OTL.

see you next wednesday.

UP @ 14:25

Today in Audiovisual class, we watched some camera effects and short animations, among them, the first part of "UP". I watched it some years ago on T.V. and I couldn't just cry in the first eight minutes. (I don't really mean it but...)

Produced by Pixar studios, and promoted by Disney as their first 3D animation, this movie tells about an old grumpy man, Carl Fredricksen, whose wife has passed away, and has to move to an old people’s home; but he showed himself and ran away before he could leave his house, attaching balloons to the roof and flying across the airs to reach “Paradise Falls”, his and her wife childhood dreamland to settle down their house till they die. But he didn’t count a little chubby Asian kid called Russell, a boy scout who was hiding in the porch, with the intention to help this old man. They arrived after a storm somewhere in South America, so they had to walk through lands to find Paradise Falls. During the trip, they met Charles Muntz, Carl’s childhood heroe who was hunting a strange bird species, which results to be Rusell’s new friend. (Yep, they found the bird first.), and have to escape from Muntz.

This movie has a very special beginning, which starts with Carl's childhood and how he met Ellie, his neighbor, and how they shared the same dream about Paradise Falls. They fall in love and get married, until things get worse, and there is when I cried. I can't tell if you haven't seen this movie, so if you like Pixar animation, this is a must.

Latin Spirit forever @ 14:43

I found them one day on radio when I was listening to "Resident hit" (R.I.P.) programm. I never knew how they called until I had a computer for myself. Then, thanks to internet, I found out they were Siam Shade. Plus I used to watch lots of anime in my chilhood, among them particularly Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin in japanese), and I realized my favorite song was one of Siam Shade.

They were a japanese band formed in 1993 by Hideki (vocal) and Natin (bassist); adding Daita and Kazuma as guitarists and then Junji came as drumer.  They started as an Indie band and got fame in 1997 when they recorded " 1/3 of pure inocence" for the anime I already mentioned.

Some themes are pure rock, but they tried some styles like pop rock, funk, metal plus some or others.
They mean my childhood; I grew up, mostly my whole adolescence, with their music. When I listen a song, even if have passed years without actually hearing it, I could remember the whole lyrics without doubt, and good memories came along.

The second theme I heard on radio was this:

It's called Blow Out, and I liked it so much that I could repeat it over and over again, never getting tired. I like it because it has a 5 seconds pause after first bridge, and it was something I had never heard in any other song. Well, I just like it. And lyrics of course ~ (is not like I understand japanese well but, I can look for lyrics, right?). It has been my favorite song since then. I feel something weird every time I hear it, something... special.

And they're amazing players. I know some songs in guitar too <3 but it's pretty hard for my little hands.

After a while I found out they separated in 2002, just when I started listening their songs. *heartbroken* So watching Lives and shows makes my heart suffer. Well, they're pretty old now <3 but I still hoping they come back again as the band I knew.

Happy Day of Design ~ @ 16:15

Today is the International Day of Design and Visual Comunications.
So, Happy Day of Design, to all my design classmates <3 ~

I went with a friend, to visit some design stores, we looked for some design books and stuff,
and I bought this pair of stickers at Lovit, and they give me some extra.

I think our university it's not that interested to promote the career, or lack of iniciative from us, to generate
spaces for design events or something. Money is always the main resource that we can't work too.
It makes me sad, to see that other colleges invest a good amount of money and effort in magnificent expositions and ourselves, University of Chile, do nothing.

I wish I had the resources and support to raise up our career into a new level, to build an steady floor where design is not the 'poor sibling' anymore (between architecture and geography).

And the most important, to demonstrate that FAU is one of the best faculties of design. (and beat down Catolica's one... fufu *evil laugh*).

oh yeah, to everyone, our anthem. Check it here. It's pretty good, I laughed a lot.
Just designers get this.

See you soon ~

The joy of life @ 13:54

One of the things in life I do enjoy the most: play guitar and bass along with my brother. I took this picture last week, when he came to my house to play bass with me and watching some horror videos (I love getting scared ♥). I don't live with them because of my mom (we can't get along), so I live with my grandparents instead and they came to visit me or I do it.

This time I invited him to watch videos, and he just recover his bass in time from few repairs after two long months. I was pretty happy so I told him to bring the bass too. He was excited and asked me to take a picture of his bass and my guitar together, preferably in low angle to magnify the shapes. I like it because represents ourselves: I'm tinier than him (lots really), delicate in details but tough; and he is large, well-built and keep the beat with me like we can talk willingly about our day. We played hysteria, from Muse.

Yeah, I like that kind of music. If there's something that can move me away from reality is music. If we have a problem we take our instruments and play, just to smooth life. Life without music, or even my brothers, is no life. H.
